Meeting was called to order by VP Tim Kelly at 7 PM. Tim suggested that we dispense with the reading of the minutes from the February 11th meeting. John K read the treasurers report. MJ moved to accept as red, Harold seconded the motion, motion passed.
OLD BUSINESS:
STARBIRDS. Tim K reported that the club had a showing of 21 card and thanked all of the members that participated. Wil reported on how well the move in / out was performed and that the club members set up and tore down the space quickly and efficiently. Wil also reported that he was a little disappointed on the few number of awards that the club received. Tim K announced all 3 winners and congratulated them.
Tim reminded the club that Sonic is a sponsor of our club and that the last Friday of every month we meet at the Sonic at 145th and 71st Street in Broken Arrow. Tim also announced that Larry is going with the over all suggestion of Harold and using the red white and blue theme and that he is also incorporating several of the other suggestions that were submitted.
Tim announced that May 16-17 is MADWACO.
NEW BUSINESS:
Tim Spencer has extra news letters if anyone is interested in an additional copy. Tim also announced that Jim J brought him information on the Regionals Car Show June 27-28 in Springfield. Tim stated that only the first 15 cars registered will be judged. Tim S stated that he spoke to the Wichita group about what would need to be done for the possibility of more cars to be judged.
John K stated that it is customary for each of the car clubs in the region to send money to whomever is hosting the Regionals car show that year to help with expenses. Greg B moved that we send the customary $225 to Springfield. JT seconded the motion. Motion passed.
John K asked the club if we will be hosting any car shows this year. He stated that if we are that we will need to renew the insurance policy, if not that we might think about forgoing the policy for the next year. Wil reminded everyone that when we host a show we are out the expenses and the time involved, if the club participates on the Leake Auction we get paid for our time and are not out any expenses. Tim K suggested that we table the idea until the April meeting.
Harold asked Wil if the Late Greats were planning on putting on the Carousel of Cars this year, Wil stated that the Late Greats felt a little burned out on the production and are just going to raffle off a trailer this year.
Nick L announced that the first Cruise In is Tuesday March 18 at FUDRUCKERS on 71st Street.
50/50 pot winner was Tim S.
